Privacy Policy
How Lend Dreams collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information, and how to access, correct or complain about it.
Giri J Pty Ltd trading as Lend Dreams (ACN 688 213 443, ABN 88 688 213 443) is a Credit Representative of Purple Circle Financial Services Pty Ltd (Australian Credit Licence 486112). We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and by Part IIIA of the Privacy Act and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code where credit information is involved. This policy explains how we handle personal information. It should be read with the privacy statement in our Credit Guide.
What we collect
To arrange finance we collect information such as your name, date of birth, contact details, identification documents, employment and income details, assets, liabilities, expenses, property details, and details of any existing loans. With your consent we obtain credit reports from credit reporting bodies. Where a lender requires it, we may also collect sensitive information, such as health information for insurance or hardship purposes; we only do so with your consent.
How we collect it
Wherever possible we collect information directly from you, in conversation, by phone or video, through our forms and applications, and by email. We may also collect it from third parties where the Privacy Act permits: from your employer, accountant, solicitor or settlement agent, from lenders and credit reporting bodies, from publicly available sources, or from anyone you authorise. If you use our website, we collect standard server data (IP address, browser, pages visited) and use cookies and analytics tools to understand how the site is used; you can disable cookies in your browser.
Why we collect it
We use your information to assess whether a loan or lease is not unsuitable for you, to identify and recommend products, to prepare and lodge applications, to verify your identity as the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 requires, to administer our services and respond to enquiries and complaints, to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, to prevent and investigate fraud, and, unless you tell us not to, to let you know about products and services that may interest you.
If you do not provide the information we ask for, we may be unable to help you find a suitable loan or lease, verify your identity or lodge an application.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only as needed to provide our services and as the law permits. Recipients may include our licensee, Purple Circle Financial Services; the broker group that lodges applications on our behalf; lenders, lessors and mortgage insurers you apply to; valuers; credit reporting bodies; fraud prevention agencies; your representatives (solicitors, conveyancers, accountants, real estate agents) and referees such as your employer; guarantors and potential guarantors; referral partners where you have asked for a referral; our IT, software and professional advisers; and government and regulatory bodies where required. We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our software and cloud providers store data outside Australia. Where this happens, your information may be stored in or accessed from countries whose laws differ from Australia’s, and we may not always know which countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure those providers protect your information, but overseas recipients may be required to disclose it under foreign law.
Credit reporting
With your consent we act as an access seeker under section 6L of the Privacy Act to obtain your credit report so we can identify suitable products. To do this we disclose identifying details (name, date of birth, address) to a credit reporting body. The bodies we may use include Equifax, Experian and illion, whose credit reporting policies are available on their websites. Your credit report may include repayment history, defaults, court judgments and enquiries. You have the right to ask a credit reporting body not to use your information for direct marketing pre-screening, and to ask it to freeze your information if you believe you have been a victim of fraud.
Direct marketing
From time to time we may tell you about products, services or offers from Lend Dreams or businesses we are associated with. You can opt out at any time by emailing info@lenddreams.com.au or using the unsubscribe link in any message, and we will stop as soon as practicable.
How we keep it secure
We store personal information in secure, access-controlled systems provided by our broker group and reputable cloud providers, and in locked physical storage where paper is unavoidable. Access is limited to staff and representatives who need it. We keep records for as long as the law requires, generally seven years after our last dealing with you, and then destroy or de-identify them.
Access and correction
You can ask us at any time for access to the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it. Email info@lenddreams.com.au or call 0415 484 234. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and in limited circumstances the law allows us to refuse access, in which case we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, contact our Complaints Officer at the details above. We acknowledge complaints within one business day and aim to resolve them within 21 days. If you are not satisfied, you may escalate to our licensee’s Complaints Manager (compliance@purplecfs.com.au, 1300 366 406) or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: 1300 363 992, oaic.gov.au, GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.
